shine your light!

“I hear you talking about your troubles
Everybody’s got their troubles too
You can make them burst like bubbles
If you know just what to do

You know I’ve been called a dreamer
Dreams that never come true
But I’ve been called so many things before
Tell you what I’m gonna do
Shine on, keep on shining, shine on,
keep on shining, shine on, keep on shining,
Shine on, keep on shining, shine on,
keep on shining, shine on, keep on shining,
Shine on, keep on shining, shine on,
keep on shining, shine on, keep on shining,
Shine on, keep on shining, shine on,
keep on shining, shine on, keep on shining”
-Allen Toussaint

People ask why is the studio named Shine On? What does it mean? The above excerpt is part of a song sung by the Jerry Garcia Band. When I heard these lyrics some time ago, they resonated with me on a very deep level. I believe we are all stars and it is our birthright to let ourselves truly shine. It is up to us! It is our choice whether or not we shine our light to all we meet.

Since we are co-creators in this life, we are the only ones that limit ourselves. God/Spirit does not play games or tricks on us by trying to limit what we can do. No, simply we are the ones that bring on all our limitations. It’s kind of like the glass half full or half empty. Are you a person that looks on the bright side of life or one that looks at the troubles of life? They are both available to us, therefore it’s our choice which one we choose. Remember, bliss is our birthright.

By going within we find all that we seek. Allow your troubles to burst like bubbles this month by doing more activities that bring you joy. Make the choice to be joy, live joyfully and spread joy to everyone you meet.

Take time to align yourself with spirit so your true essence flows more naturally.

Activities that increase our ability to SHINE:

1. Wear bright colors
2. Go outside
3. Practice more yoga asanas
4. Meditate
5. Positive affirmations
6. Spend time with positive people
7. Love yourself fully for all that you are and all that you think you are not
8. Anything that brings you more joy
